A lot to tell after 21 years with Pestalozzi International

You’ve been with Pestalozzi International for 21 years, witnessing countless shifts and changes. What has been the most rewarding part of working for the organisation?

Working with and supporting the students at Pestalozzi has been the most rewarding experience of my working career. Watching them transform their lives through education is nothing short of inspiring. I’m especially moved by our alumni who have taken their education to the next level by launching their own social initiatives. Their commitment to making a difference not only amplifies the impact of their learning, but also creates a ripple effect of positive change in their communities. It’s a true testament to the power of education and the incredible potential within each of them!

What is your most memorable experience working for PIF? And how have you stayed so long?

There are too many memorable experiences to be able to focus on just one! What keeps me here is the understanding that education goes beyond academics. The holistic approach we embrace, nurturing not just the mind but the heart and hands, truly sets us apart. It’s about fostering well-rounded individuals who are prepared to thrive in every aspect of life.

Having seen the evolution of Pestalozzi over two decades, how do you think this merger will amplify the impact our donors have on the lives of students and communities?

By combining resources, expertise, and networks, we can create more robust programmes and reach a wider audience. This synergy will enable us to provide even more comprehensive support, from academic resources to personal development initiatives. Our donors will see their contributions used to expand our outreach, empowering more students to succeed, uplifting entire communities in the process.

As someone who has witnessed the organisation’s transformation and growth for over two decades, what message would you like to send to our donors, who have supported us throughout the years?

Thank you for your unwavering support over the years. Because of you, the lives of countless students have been transformed and communities strengthened as a result. The merger marks a fresh identity for Pestalozzi, but the mission remains rooted in our core values. Donors are an essential part of our journey and their generosity truly changes lives and we hope they will see an increase in impact.

The ‘Big Give’ campaign begins in a few weeks time, how can our supporters make the most out of this opportunity, and how do you see people engaging with it?

The Big Give is a great opportunity to double the impact of your donations, with each one being match-funded. You can also share our social media posts with your networks, raising awareness of the positive changes Pestalozzi is making.
