Pestalozzi Alumni Reunion in Nepal

A new generation of changemakers

Our alumni change their lives and those around them

Transforming lives and communities

At Pestalozzi International, it’s not just about education - we are creating a new generation of changemakers.

Our alumni are not just transforming their lives; they are catalysts for change in their communities. We are proud that 90% of our alumni remain in their home countries, contributing to local communities and economies. Whether through public service, entrepreneurship, or supporting their families financially through roles as teachers, healthcare professionals, and social entrepreneurs, they are driving forward the development of their regions.

This ripple effect demonstrates the profound impact of our programmes, contributing to broader societal advancements and inspiring others to follow in their footsteps.

Pestalozzi writes success stories

"When Pestalozzi selected me back in Lundazi, everything changed. I received a great education, and I learned the importance of giving back. I now work with Edulution, helping students improve their maths skills using tablet technology."

As a "Gold Star" coach with Edulution, Joseph drives math education for rural Zambian youth, in addition he oversees several centers, coaches, and training teams in South Africa and Namibia.

Our agents for change

We provide children and young adults with comprehensive education that equips them with diverse skills beyond traditional knowledge. This enables them to take control of their lives and break the cycle of poverty. But our ambition goes further; graduates leave with not only certificates but also tools to become changemakers and leaders for positive change. They can start and drive initiatives in their communities and countries, guiding underserved individuals toward a brighter future. Our programs create a ripple effect, benefiting many more marginalised people beyond our alumni.

This is what we stand for

Pestalozzi writes success stories

Our programmes profoundly impact the lives of our students and their communities. Thanks to our Alumni programme we keep close contact to our former students. We are very proud, that 90% of them remain in their home country using their Pestalozzi education to contribute to their fellow citizens. More than half of them work in public service as teachers or health care workers and 70% of all alumni are involved in community work. So, Pestalozzi International clearly writes success stories.

Pestalozzi’s approach

Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi recognized the transformative power of education. He championed a holistic approach, emphasising the development of the whole person. By empowering and uplifting everyone, enabling everybody to make informed decisions, seeing the relevance of empathy, he envisioned a pathway to societal improvement and a more peaceful, secure world. He pioneered education leading to empowered citizens taking responsibility for themselves and society. We are the only international NGO implementing a modern interpretation of his principles to bring positive change.
