Alumni News: Ahmed selected for the prestigious Bezos Scholars Program.
Ahmed Kazadi Kabuya, a former Pestalozzi International scholar, who is now studying for his A levels at the African Leadership Academy in South Africa, was invited to join the prestigious Bezos Scholars Program. After a very rigorous selection process, he was one of only 5 scholars to be selected each year from the African continent.
Ahmed was invited to the Aspen Ideas Festival in Colorado. He was able to experience leadership through meetings with notable experts in politics, education, engineering and many other fields that support community change.
Ahmed had the opportunity with his team to come up with a project, an initiative to support young entrepreneurs, which they have called the South African Ideas Festival. This project will empower them through financial literacy and resources that will make them successful in their different fields. This project will be funded by the Bezos Family Foundation and they will be able to create a curriculum for this project which is going to help impact students from across the African community.
The Bezos Scholars Program looks for young leaders who are passionate about community change, care deeply for their communities and are willing to create change in their communities.
